MAINTENANCE AND INSTALLATION OF THE BOW THRUSTER

This customer contacted Mecatec Machining requesting technical support for repairs to the bow thruster together with the authorized representative of the equipment during the ship's stopover in Angra dos Reis.

Our technical team worked closely with the customer's representative to define technical and safety procedures. After the initial inspection, our team provided all the necessary support, starting with the removal of marine incrustations from the grids and propellers, which allowed the thruster cover to be opened. This procedure included the careful removal of screws and machining of the bearing for adjustment and adequacy of the thread. The Mecatec team was also responsible for manufacturing and welding the eyebolts used to lift the thruster.

After the repairs were completed, the reverse procedure was carried out with the reassembly of the set, a step considered critical, as it required all parts, mechanics, technical staff and on-board administration to work in harmony for a successful result.

At the end of the process, the equipment's functioning tests were carried out, which attested to the success of the operation.
