PROPELLER INSPECTION AND POLISHING

This client consulted us informing us that one of his ships showed signs of loss of performance and navigation speed. We present as a technical solution, the propeller super-polishing procedure.

The site chosen by the client to perform the services was the Port of Angra dos Reis - RJ. Once on site, our diving supervisors embark for negotiations with the onboard administration for alignment of procedures and operational safety and after everything is defined, it's time for the divers to go into the water!

The service started with a detailed inspection of the vessel. In the images from the cameras attached to the divers' helmets it was possible to verify a high level of marine incrustation on the propeller blades and body, indicating that this was the possible cause of the problems reported. After this was done, the procedures to prepare the propeller surface for polishing began with the removal and complete manual cleaning of the structure, followed by polishing with hydraulic equipment and high performance discs.

The entire process was followed by the client in real time directly from its headquarters in Singapore via a streaming system, which allowed for immediate feedbacks and approval of the results.
