On board the vessel, our technicians performed the initial disassembly procedures, cleaning the set and a detailed inspection of the Swivel components, which made it possible to identify damages and items to be replaced. Supplied by the customer, o'rings, balls and bearing race were removed and replaced, in a meticulous adjustment and lubrication process to reduce spacing and friction between components to increase the equipment's useful life.

After the repairs were completed, the equipment was reassembled and with the support of hoists the swivel was then reinstalled. In coordination with the on-board team, hydrostatic tests were carried out, which proved the watertightness and good functioning of the system, thus leaving the ship ready for the next operation.

Our client identified a leak in the swivel of the BLS system of one of its ships and called Mecatec to carry out the scale repairs at the port of São Sebastião – SP.
